Touch Typing and Exams

I felt SO proud yesterday. ๐Ÿ˜Š

A past student asked for an assessment as he is keen to come back for a refresher typing course.

It was 4 years ago that I last saw him when he was only 8 years old.

Touch typing and dyslexia and dyspraxia

His dyspraxia and dyslexia was quite severe and I remember how he found handwriting very slow and painful.

Touch typing speed

So you can imagine my delight when I set him a long typing test and he scored 98% accuracy and 40 words per minute.

Wow!

He didnโ€™t look down at his hands once and found it easy and effortless. He was even able to chat to me while he was doing it!

So of course I questioned why he wanted some refresher lessons.

Touch typing at school

He explained that he now takes his laptop into all of his lessons at school and is touch typing for all of his class notes, his prep work and exams at school.

As he moves onto senior school in September, he wants to increase his speed even more whilst maintaining his high accuracy.

Helping students achieve their typing goals

I have to applaud his maturity in choosing to do this. He can clearly see the huge difference being able to touch type has made to him.

I canโ€™t wait to help him achieve his goal.
