Join Our In-Person Typing Classes in Harrow and Sutton/Cheam

If you live close to Harrow in North West London or Cheam/Sutton in South West London and would prefer a face to face lesson with one of our friendly, expert typing tutors, our centre based courses are ideal for you!

Our weekly lessons are held during term time both after school and at the weekends. Each lesson lasts for an hour allowing learning to progress at a nice slow and steady pace with plenty of time to practice in between lessons.

As class sizes tend to be small, these lessons are ideal for a younger child with a learning difference or adults that wish to learn after a working day. These are group lessons, but we can also offer one-to-one or private sessions.

Centre Based Typing Classes:

  • Saturday lessons in Harrow from 9am – 1pm.
  • Mid week lessons available in Harrow: please enquire for dates/times.
  • Monday evenings in in Sutton/Cheam from 4.30pm – 5.30pm.

If you can’t get to one of our centres, we have been successfully running face to face lessons on Zoom for the last four years. With camera technology, we can easily track finger movements and demonstrate ‘how to’ instructions, so your son or daughter can learn with one of our amazing friendly typing tutors. Without having to leave home! See our courses page for more info.

What people are saying…

"She is now super-fast!"

I bought this course for my daughter who suffers with neuropathic pain in her hands. Her handwriting has slowly deteriorated. She was losing confidence at school as she couldn’t keep up note taking in class.

With the touch-typing skill she has gained from this course her confidence has improved as she is now super-fast at her note taking and can keep up in lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these centre based touch typing courses suitable for?

Our centre-based courses are suitable for children and adults aged 9+.

Where and when do they take place?

Our centres are in Harrow and Sutton. Classes take place on during term time and during the school holidays at our typing centres in Harrow and Sutton. During the holidays, we will set some refresher lessons for practice. Our centres are in a residential area, so there is plenty of parking close by.

Can we join at any time?

Yes, you can join a class at any time throughout the term.

How many students in a class?

We work with one tutor to 3 students. Every learner will go at their own pace and will be at a different place on their touch typing journey.

My child has a SpLD (dyslexia or dyspraxia) - can they still join this Centre Based touch typing course?

Our centre based courses are group lessons so you will have to consider whether a group lesson is suitable for your child. If you feel they would benefit more from one-to-one help, it may be best for them to come for a 30-minute assessment first. If you are not sure, just give us a call.

Do you set homework?

Yes, we set a little bit of practice each week, reinforcing what they are learnt with us in class, so they can come back the following week ready to move onto learning new keys.

What programmes do you use?

We use a carefully selected range of excellent programmes that are specialist touch typing programmes for adults and children. We have also curated our own specialist course for children with dyslexia.

Can we take a break in the course?

As this is a term time course, lessons are designed as continuous. You can miss one lesson free of charge but any additional lessons will be chargeable.

Are your tutors DBS checked?

Yes all of our tutors have a valid Enhanced DBS check.

Can parents learn too?

If there is availability, parents are welcome to join in the class.
